Railway supply runs in two stages. The hardware is assessed by RDSO first, and only then are consignments offered for inspection and certified against it — crate by crate, checked against what was ordered. Our platforms are RDSO assessed, and we hold more than 200 inspection certificates issued since.
The two are worth separating, because they answer different questions. The assessment says the design was examined and accepted. The certificates say it kept being built to that standard, order after order, over years. A vendor can have the first without much of the second; the second is what a buyer is really asking about when they ask whether you have done this before.
What it buys you as a customer is boring and valuable: we already know how the paperwork works. The inspection call, the documents that must travel with the consignment, the serial and firmware records an inspector will ask for, and the difference between a machine that is ready for inspection and one that is merely finished.

What is different
Railway procurement asks questions a commercial buyer does not
A commercial buyer asks what the machine does and what it costs. A railway buyer asks those and then keeps going: what it is made of, where it was made, who inspected it, what happens to it in year seven, and whether the identical unit can still be supplied when the first one fails.
Those questions change the build before they change the price. A platform built from whatever was available that quarter cannot answer the traceability question. A configuration that drifts between orders cannot answer the identical-unit question. And a supplier who has never been through an inspection does not know how long the answer takes to assemble.
So the engineering that matters for railway supply is mostly documentation engineering — recorded baselines, stable configurations, named components — and it has to be designed in from the first order rather than reconstructed at the fourth.

Can you supply the same unit again? — What answers it: Configurations are recorded with their firmware baseline, so the fourth unit matches the first three.
Who supports it, and for how long? — What answers it: Warranty 1 to 5 years as per the terms finalised, with next-business-day on-site response in the major cities and remote support elsewhere.
Is the quality system documented? — What answers it: ISO 9001 quality management, with BIS and EMI/EMC among the certifications on the compliance page.

Railway deployments are rarely one machine in one room. They are several classes of machine in several kinds of place, and the difference between them is environmental as much as technical.
Data centre and zonal offices — Rack servers for the applications a zone runs — ticketing back-ends, asset and maintenance systems, file and directory services.
Stations and yards — Surveillance recording and video analytics platforms, sized for camera count and retention rather than for peak compute.

What railway supply changes about a build
Built ready for inspection — The documents, serial records and firmware baseline that travel with a consignment are produced as part of the build rather than gathered afterwards.
Burn-in before it is offered — A unit that fails on an inspector's bench has failed twice — so it is stressed, thermally checked and SMART-reviewed here first.
Configurations that hold — A recorded baseline means a repeat order is the same machine, which is what makes a spares plan and an inspection history worth anything.
Spares planned with the order — For an estate that will run for years across many sites, the spares question is asked at specification rather than at the first failure.

What does RDSO assessed mean here? — Answer: The hardware was examined and accepted by RDSO before consignments were offered against it. The certificates follow the assessment rather than replacing it.
What exactly do the 200+ certificates cover? — Answer: Consignments offered for inspection and passed. Each covers the units in that consignment — a supply record built over years on top of the assessment.
Do you supply through GeM? — Answer: Yes. GeM registration is on the certifications page along with the rest of the compliance record.
Can you meet a Make-in-India local-content requirement? — Answer: The machines are integrated and manufactured in India and the components are nameable, which is what a local-content declaration has to be built from. The specific percentage is assessed per configuration, because it depends on what is in it.
Can you handle a multi-site rollout? — Answer: Yes, and the part that decides whether it goes well is the configuration baseline rather than the logistics — identical units, recorded, so site forty matches site one.
Who does the inspection? — Answer: The inspecting authority named in the tender. Our part is to have the machine, the paperwork and the test evidence ready when they arrive.
